Hahaha was just thinking about this last night while picking something to read. I look to see my kindle and my book right next to each other. Ultimately, I buy what’s cheaper or, if they are comparable in price, I go for the book for that magical feeling.

That’s a nice mix of practical and personal. I like it.

This is an awesome post. I stumbled through your blog from Instagram hashtags. I’m an avid reader, I both love paperback books and e reading and also a Goodreads member! Both have their pros and cons as you mentioned above. However, I find within my circle of nerdy avid reading friends that they love e reading and also keeping a hard copy of their books when they go on sale or when you can grab them on Amazon. One great thing about e reading is that you can do book marathons, you can read twice as fast than you would read on paper back books, this is why my friends love e reading. And it’s true! I completely agree I could finish a 400-500 page book in a day! Also, ebooks are free online lol illegal but if you’re on a budget I guess it justifiable. Then just buy the hard copy when on sale. Lastly, night reading. When you’re reading an actual book you would need your light on which will cause secretion of serotonin from your pituitary gland which in turn keeps you awake(sorry so nerdy). In contrast to e reading especially on iPads with their wonderful night mode features and low lighting on e readers which will rather help you sleep. Anyways this is a great post nice blog have a good night!

You’re not being nerdy at all! Or at least if you are, then I’m a nerd too. Love the engagement! I love both formats too and I’m a Goodreads member, but I’m not very active on it. Thanks for finding the post and the engagement, I really appreciate it!

Tough one! Sorta like CDs vs Digital Downloads. Some are so special I like to have a hard copy, but it saves time and is simple and portable to go with e-books.

I’m more of an e-book guy. I love books, but I just own so many it’s easier to lug em around. That being said, I still love normal books. But I don’t remember the last time I bought a CD!

I understand the appeal of e-books, but I would prefer a good old fashion paper book. You get more of a feeling of accomplishment and anticipation when you actually see the pages that you have read AND how many are left when reading from a hard copy (paper) book.

I would go with books. I actually did a survey on this for one of my assignments and books took the lead! I just love holding the book in my hand and witnessing as the pages on the right side become less and the pages on the left increase. And for some reason, my eyes get really tired staring at a screen so yeah, I’d definately go with books.

I’d love to see the data on that. If you put it online I’ll link to it on the post.
